See Espresso Instruction in Los Angeles and other discussions. Specifically Klatch Roasting offers training by two-time U.S. Barista Champion Heather Perry. There's also Intelligentsia's free $200 Los Angeles Espresso Enthusiast Class.

FWIW, your link to the Intelligentsia "Enthusiast Class" is indicating that it's now $200 (not free).

If you have questions on Klatch Training by Heather Perry you can get most answered at www.klatchroasting.com or call 877-4KLATCH. You can also email Heather direct at heather@klatchroasting.com She teaches private classes at your place or the klatch roasting lab. She has has various half and full day classes, most are meant for working barista but many home baristi have attended and enjoyed greatly. If you are a Klatch customer there are Free classes every Tuesday in August from 10am to 2pm as part of their Customer Appreciation. They require pre-registration and already sold out but two more classes were just added in September. Contact Heather or Klatch for more info.

I wouldn't suggest the Intelligentsia class unless you are a complete novice. It's not involved enough. It's specific only to their set-up and equipment and does not demonstrate trouble shooting solutions.
