49th Parallel bags suitable for freezing?

Postby Bob_McBob on Thu Apr 15, 2010 3:02 pm

This is a silly little question, but I just received a large order of Epic Espresso from 49th Parallel, and I'm wondering whether the bags they use are generally air tight and suitable for freezing. I order in 5-10 lb lots from my regular roaster, so I'd normally transfer the coffee to individual foil bags with the top and air valve taped up.

They're air tight and flushed with nitrogen, as good as you can get for freezing. Do tape over the one-way valve as you've been doing, though.
