I see a number of them listed online. I found a similar one in better condition for less than half that price. It's worth a thorough search.
BTW for gasket cutting, I already had the automotive punches David suggested, just not the largest sizes. They are the same thing as leather punches. Instead of getting more of those in a larger sizes, which could get spendy, I searched the net for a good price and ordered a General Tools 11 gasket and washer cutter. This will give me much more flexibility in completing these sorts of restoration projects.

Just a quick post showing a Caudana Vesuviana electric that came complete with user manual. What little I could find shows a later version with the same power cord. Curios, as it is cloth covered and the switch looks '30s-ish.
Only reference to this one is here - http://caffettiere.altervista.org/vesuviana2.html

David:
That's a second version and wouldn't have been made before 1948. The switch and power cord look very 1950s to my eye.

Hi Gary -
Thanks for the feedback. Most of the 50's stuff I've had over the years had rubber covered cords with molded plugs, much like the Gaggia Gilda54, but could be early '50s.
This machine is 110V and the plug is a switched Snapit/Kool Grip, 'made in USA'. So it seems they used off the shelf cords for the US distributed products. Looks like it was never used. The manual is in English, Italian, and French, but unfortunately no date.

David, how did I miss the manual when I was looking at your collection the other day? LOLcuppajoe wrote:Just a quick post showing a Caudana Vesuviana electric that came complete with user manual.

Cher just received a rare first version with an amazing backstory. Here's her thread. I've uploaded the manual and patent to that thread, thanks to Lucio del Piccolo, our member LVX.

This sizing looks similar to what Bialetti did with their Bialetti-branded Moka Express and similar products. I wonder how many sizes they offered?

Orphan Espresso sells gaskets (and lists measurements) for 3, 6, 9 and 12 cup models, which are listed as less than 7 3/4" tall, 7 3/4", 8 1/4" and 9 1/2". Apparently they were unaware of the 1 cup version that I have, which is less than 5 1/2" tall.
