It doesn't make sense that the manufacturer would take the effort to braze in place, the HX end caps, onto the boiler without the HX tube inside.
Unless of course, the ends of the boiler are cast end pieces which have the HX end caps as part of the one-piece end plate design.
I'll take a photo in the near future once I receive the part.

From your photos (thanks), it certainly looks like the boiler in your machine is one (that was) destined for an Expobar Brewtus brew boiler.
Thus you need an Expobar boiler designed for an Hx machine. Obviously this can be purchased from Whole Latte Love and you should also order a thermosyphon restrictor in addition to any other parts you will need.
I would start a tally on your expenses as these could override any future work.
