Long time ago, I got this machine (I think more than 10 years).

Google find only a few pictures of a 2group machine.
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt ... MwgcKAAwAA
And a few pictures:
https://picasaweb.google.com/1040703163 ... vNK_68mTLQ

And here a restoration at the german kaffee-netz:
http://www.kaffee-netz.de/threads/la-do ... cke.37081/
That' s all.
Nothing about the history of La Dorio.
Nothing about "Macchine Per Crema Caffe' Lili", that's the correct name of this red Lady Lili
At last the Dorio Company resided in Udine - Italy Via Musoni 11 and the telephone number is 23984 (La San Marco is in Udine as well still today)

Has anybody more information?
Please let me know.

So I realised, that this La Dorio Lili is very unique and I started to disassemble La Dorio
Here a some pictures:

...and a lot of asbestos

By tomorrow.

that's a beauty! Look forward to see your restoration. Obviously take care with that asbestos... Also it is very odd that the pressure gauge is mounted at the bottom of the water sight level glass? Never seen that arrangement before. Looks like it could be positioned at the top instead?

yes, you're right. but both position are possible. Sometimes it's better, when the pressure gauge is on the top.
I will see.
Thanks

I have a book (http://www.betterworldbooks.com/espress ... 08024.aspx) where I found this small info:
La Dorio was a workshop founded in 1925 by Mr. Antonio Dorio and his son. In short time they became the official exporter of coffee machines to Yoguslavia. The company stopped its production in the early 1970s.

Not much...

Also looking forward to progress. It would appear that someone along the line installed the sight glass assembly upside down. All the pics show it at the top, as per usual. Is the right side panel AWOL?

La Dorio Udine, Italy
https://www.google.de/search?q=la+Dorio ... 04ChCwBAga

In the last 10 years I havn't seen any LA DORIO LILI 1 group somewhere.
Of course Enrico Maltoni ( http://www.espressomadeinitaly.com/en/m ... -caffe.asp )
has one, but only a 2-group machine.
http://www.espressomadeinitaly.com/en/g ... llery=8208
The construction-date of his La Dorio Lili 2-group is 1971.

Antonio Dorio founded the company 1925 in Udine, Italy. The company stopped the production in the early 1970s.
They build a lot of wonderful Lever-machines.

Here is a restoration thread
La Dorio Atlas + Olimpica

and another one

also

and in german language:

and here one of the latest La Dorio machines (early 1970s):
http://coffeesnobs.com.au/brewing-equip ... dorio.html

and here you can buy a La Dorio
http://cw-gebrauchtgeraete.at/158-0-la- ... l?goback=9

From which year my La Dorio Lili is dated, I dont know, because it is not marked.
There are a lot of markings for any possibility (the most components are numbered "20"), only the production year is missing.
Enrico Maltoni dated his red La Dorio-Lilli from 1971, the machine I have, has probably also been produced in the 60s or the 1970s.

Looking good. Check the heating element for a date, usually a good indication as to vintage.

Thanks, but the heating-elements do not exist anymore.
Usually the La Dorio's have 2 heating-elements (one 200 Watt and the other 800 Watt, this is marked on the flange)
As 100 Watt are not efficient, I took two heating elements with both 1000Watt.

Good luck with the restoration. It should be a beauty by the time you're done. Looking forward to more pictures
