After watching the Tim Wendelboe video and doing some other reading, I'm thinking of buying a refractometer. After some preliminary ebay and amazon searches, I'm met with some confusion. I've found products ranging anywhere from $150 - $1700, and I'm just not sure what type of equipment I need for what I want to do. At this point I'm (obviously) interested in measuring my TDS as a diagnoses tool. I guess I just don't have a lot of information on what kind of expenditure and usefulness I'm looking at, but I am interested in a new diagnoses toy!

Refractometers have been a recent topic of discussion. I suggest reading the thread A detailed comparison study of the Atago and VST refractometers and see if that helps you decide.
