I think there was no topic about the Gaggia Espresso Color yet?
So I want to share mine right here:
Very happy with this machine... still practicing how everything works...
More photos right here: http://theboulevardexclusive.wordpress.com/
(couldn't upload the animated images I made)
Please discuss this machine right here in this thread
Anyone else with this machine that can give me tips to use it a better way so I can get out better espressos?

That's a nice looking machine. Congratulations!
As I understand it, most Gaggia machines are basically the same under the skin, so hints and techniques that have been offered for other machines would apply equally to yours. You may want to search and see what advice you can find in existing threads regarding these machines. They are certainly capable of making good espresso if you use good beans, a good grinder, and decent technique.
On a general level, the only advice I would offer is to get the best grinder you can afford, and invest in plenty of really good, fresh beans. Also, a good quality tamper might be in order. It looks like you're still using the plastic tamper that came with the machine, which is not a good fit for the portafilter and is a bit too flimsy for my tastes.
Good luck and have fun!

Does the Gaggia Color use a standard 58 MM tamper? I'm eyeing one now that I can pick up on the cheap...under $150 U.S.. Also will be sourcing a bottomless p/f for the Color if I take the bait and get this one.
I know it will require the SPV fix, and maybe a later upgrade to the Silvia steam wand. Possibly installation of a Classic adjustable OPV. I think the upgrade bug has bitten!
