Descaling the La Marzocco GS3

Has anyone descaled their GS3? I know the manufacturer doesn't officially "recommend" it, and my vendor (Chris Coffee) says "don't do it." But in a parallel post I started recently, I have a major problem that could be due to scale buildup that caused a near-flood.
If anyone has descaled the machine, could you please provide close details on the process? I think many of us have had the machines for 1-2 years now, and it's probably about that time. I'm particularly interested in what descaler was used, what concentration, method to fill the boiler(s), drainage process, and if it caused any problems (e.g. new blockages from debris being stirred up).
Thanks much,
Derek

Here are some general guidelines for descaling the GS/3.
I've PMed you regarding a document I can send you on the subject.
