Dan - When you say that you "flush the boiler" are you referring to a single boiler and simply running a bunch of water through the group? Just want to make sure I am thinking of the same issue.HB wrote: As a matter of practice, I dump/refill the reservoir once a day and flush the boiler if the machine is not getting enough action for natural water freshness turnover.

Just an FYI. The water in the brew path (i.e. in the heat exchanger or in the brew boiler) does not actually boil. The higher the pressure in the brew system, the higher boiling point for the water. Also, since it is under pressure, the ability of the oxygen to outgas (go stale) is very small. If you think about it, the HX machines are really dual boiler machines also. The brew boiler is just inside of the steam boiler and does not have its own temperature control (has to depend on the steam boiler temp control).
