Although I'm a newbie here, I have experienced the same question over and over on other forums. I wanted to share two thoughts about this. I'm not sure that they're always true, but it makes me feel better to think they are.

First, even though the FAQ is great, there is a certain technical vocabulary used, as in any forum devoted to something in particular, whether cars, plants, or dogs. Until you learn that vocabulary, it can be difficult to find answers to your questions. Suppose you want to know if there's a way to modify your machine to maintain a specific temperature. If you don't know "PID" I don't think you're going to find the answer in the FAQ or perhaps by searching the forums. Once you learn what a PID controller is, then you'll find a wealth of information in the FAQ. FWIW, it took me a while to figure our what PF and HX stood for as well. I'm not complaining, just pointing out that vocabulary alone can prevent one from finding answers.

Second, I think there's more to these forums than answers. I think most of us like to talk about things we're interested in with people who are also interested in them. I'll admit that I was actually a little disappointed that I could find answers to my first dozen or so questions. I was excited about my Pavoni and I think wanted to interact with others who could appreciate it.

I know these reasons don't apply to everyone, but I think they do apply to some. Just my 2¢.
