ONE POST WINNERS? - Page 4

I'm glad Brad started this thread, it's really pushed me to think about how to "reward" those members who contribute to the site content throughout the year without slighting the newly arrived members. After much thought, I have arrived at what I hope all, including my lawyer friends, will agree is a reasonable compromise.

The original contest rules stated that entrants are allowed to submit an entry every four hours. This rule is unchanged. However, in tribute to the classic song of the season "The Twelve Days of Christmas", members who have contributed to the site content during 2008 will be rewarded with a 12 minute reduction for every month in which they posted. For example, if you posted in December, November and September, your waiting period between entry submissions is four hours minus 36 minutes. Whether you posted 1 time or 50 times in a given month is irrelevant - one post for the month qualifies for the 12 minute reduction. The maximum total reduction is 144 minutes (2 hours and 24 minutes). Don't worry about figuring out the next window of opportunity; if you submit too early, the system will remind you precisely when the waiting period will expire.

* If you note an error in calculations or other programming anomaly, please contact me directly and I will investigate post-haste.

Haha ok ok! I will stop complaining about living in Hawaii and our high shipping. I forgot that it is winter for you "mainlanders".

Spresso_Bean wrote:LOL...yeah, I will trade my snowy freezing Chicago life with you for anything in Hawaii, and then you can win haha. I would trade all my stuff for a life in Hawaii, seriously.

Spresso Bean, thanks but no thanks. I don't think I would last a whole winter in Chicago!

Haha, yeah it can be rough. I just get jealous of those that live in Hawaii.

You may be giving me more credit than I deserve! This morning I received several reports of odd errors when trying to submit an entry. Turns out that the version of the database for my test server and the one for the live forum aren't the same. D'oh.

If anyone else sees problems with the contest thread, please contact me directly rather than reporting it in the forums. Thanks...

I got some discounted 'spro out of it, so I can't complain. Maybe next year I'll get a wicked grinder.
