Expanded Active Topics on Home Page

I really like the Latest forum topics list on the left of the home page.

I'd like to have a longer list to fill up more of the empty white space down the left side of the page. 20 or 30 seems like the right number.

I lengthened it a bit, but if you log in, doesn't the forum's View unread topics do the same thing and more? It keeps track of what topics you've already seen and can mark them all read in one click. The latest topics on the home page is really for first-time visitors.

I assumed that regulars skip the home page most of the time. If that's wrong, I'll need to update it more frequently.

Thanks for the extra length.

The View Unread Topics contains TMI, IMO. It's easier to scan the list on the home page.

Since implementing the need to mark all unread topics as read, I mostly just go to the home-page and check the latest forum topics for new posts. However, I find it a pain that clicking on the topic starts me at the top of the discussion.

Dan, is there any way to make it so that clicking on the topic takes the user to the last page of the discussion? This would save me an extra click most of the time.

Thanks,

Mark

Did you notice the little arrow (Image)? It goes to the last post in the topic.

Thanks Dan  ! I thought each line was a single link - I guess my vision is starting to show my age.

You may also be interested in the improved forums RSS feed. Firefox ("live bookmarks") and Internet Explorer 7 ("Favorites > Feeds") will recognize the feeds automatically, or you can use your favorite RSS reader (e.g., Google Reader). You can also subscribe per forum, e.g., Lever Espresso Machines Forum [RSS]. Look for this symbol in your browser:

Clicking it will subscribe to the feed.
