Understood. Rest assured that the beauty of these knockboxes is not just skin deep, but they are beautifully engineered and handcrafted under the hood as well (made in Germany). They weigh about 2 lbs. Having said that, we don't recommend that you use the portafilter to beat up the sides of the knockbox.
