Dave, I need a second brush so I can rotate them. Who is your retailer? After a silver tip badger.

The handle in the last 'lathe' pic shows some amazing wood grain. Yet the finished handles look very black. Is that due to the lacquer or something else?

Boldjava,

I had a brush made with a High Mountain White knot from thegoldennib.com. Out of 8 brushes, it is easily my favourite.

Those ebony and Ivory brushes turned out nice. Put a very high grade A 24mm silvertip badger brush in them. They will look better after a few days of use. The knots bloom and open up.

Finally got to install new handles on my VBM. Tell me about a waiting period, 10 months, but so worth it. Looks great!
Thanks Dave.

I fancy myself a artisan wood worker. I do it for the enjoyment and creative expression it brings not for the dollars I can make doing it. Now and then I get to make parts for someone that shares the same ideas and we simply trade wares instead of cash. After all, that is how business was conducted for centuries. I made some Olive wood espresso machine parts for a potter a month ago. In return she made me a nice collection of cups. Espresso, macchiato, cappuccino and a couple of big mugs. They arrived a few days ago but I have been sick as dog for days. I finally snapped a photo and made myself a cappuccino this morning. The photos do not do the complexity in the glaze justice.
