They just unscrew but they are on with thread locking compound. Do a search on the site for portafilter handle remove and you will get several threads on the subject.

Pretty easy. In fact so easy a caveman can do it. Seriously though if you google changing Londinium PF handle or something like that you'll see a you tube video link with Reiss demonstrating removal. Use a hair dryer on high 6 minutes per side on the metal and use an Allen wrench either 14 or 15mm and you are good to go.
