The turning is easy, the magic is in the finish which takes days to apply properly.

I'll bite. What finish are you using?
If your tiny coffee is so great, then why don't you drink more of it?

A special one that takes days to properly apply and 7-9 coats to build the durable luster. Cannot give away all my trade secrets. I can turn a portafilter in 15 minutes, then I spend 8-9 hours of hands on applying the finish.

I've been using CA + micromesh. Comparison thoughts?

Finished up a true double edged dagger in bacote wood and buffed it all to a very high luster. Drop me an email if you are interested in it, $90. It is razor sharp. Now back to espresso machines...

Finished a pair of portafilter handles for an Elektra. Very interesting ironwood burl. There is a lot of curl figure in the wood along with the burl. Unfortunately it is cloudy outside. In the sunlight it really pops and rolls with the grain.

Built a shave set for my kid, time for him to start shaving. Restored a 100+ year old Wade&Butcher straight razor and put it in some ironwood burl scales with an epoxy resin finish. Pin's are 1/16 brass rod with brass over stainless washers and brass thrust bearings. The brush is ironwood burl as well with a high gloss finish and a 22mm finest badger knot and a Mach3 razor turned in ironwood burl as well. Finished up a knife as well in some left over Ironwood.

Now back to my Ebony work for a Rocket.
