Okay microfoam, but I can't see how you could possibly tamp with that thing ;)

Got my Ironwood PF handle, VBM knobs, and RB tamper handle in the mail today. WOW! I am totally blown away by them. They are by far beyond what I expected. I tried to take a few pics but it really is tough to get the wood grain and tame the VBM stainless. Let's just say that the pics do *some* justice to the beauty.

Very nice! Your knockbox looks like a nicer version of Artazza's burled walnut one. Details???

The liner is Rattleware and the box is DIY. I used some scrap wood and veneer from a speaker project - Bubinga veneer from veneersupplies. Lots of coats of auto laquer, sanding, more sanding and polishing!

I'll include a few photos of the brush I had Dave custom make for me, then I'll include hopefully much better shots in a few days when my L series macro lens arrives. These shots cannot do the wood grain justice at all. I plan on getting a small simple light box to be able to take much better macro shots in the future.

I had to wait till I could find the right sized and shaped stand for it. I was able to easily bend the arms to hold the brush in the perfect spot so the whole thing floats at just the right height. I could easily see myself building a collection of his awesome work.

Nice. If I ever break down and order some of Dave's gorgeous work, I'm tempted to get lever espresso machine handles, tampers, and shave brush handles.

Nice picture of your R89 in there. I've been enjoying my Merkur 12c in my shave rotation.

Just finished up an iroonwood burl set that incredible looking. You know, I am going to have to make a set for me one day.

On a side note, Amboyna burl just went through a very big price jump too the tune of 3x. I was shocked when my normal supplier quoted me $60 a pound for exhibition grade burl wood  . A portafilter handle takes almost 2 pounds of Amboyna.

Some ironwood burl for a Duetto II mark3. The Duetto's have to be the most inconsistent line for parts, 3 versions and 3 different valve assembly types. At any rate, they look good.
