We have come up with some silicone group gaskets - starting with E61 group machines.

We currently have 2 different basic "E61" sizes:

57mm x 8mm x 8mm (Red colour)
57mm x 8mm x 8.5mm (Blue colour)

The silicone material is completely non-toxic and unlike conventional rubber gaskets, these have no smell or taste whatsoever. They also do not bake hard like rubber does and so are very easy to remove.

We went back and forth testing different compounds to strike a balance between a good hardness (like a regular gasket) but without losing the silicone soft properties. I'm not going to say these are long-life gaskets as I have "only" been using these now for over 6 months but they have performed great.

MSRP is US$3 each. Lots more details here:

Is the Bezzera Strega an 8mm, or 8.5?
BTW, I'd assume no red 40 was used in the manufacture of the red colour?

Fixed.

As per email I am not sure what size it is, it is a Pavoni group. No red 40, we will publish food test reports, just waiting back on the standard rubber ones we sent for testing as well as they required much more stringent tests.

I bought both the red and blue, for my Strega and plan on sharing my findings.

Bezzera emailed me and said 7.5mm.
With an HQ basket and VST group screen I can easily lock my PF (if I wanted to) at 5 O'clock.
So another .5mm (to the 8mm silicon gasket) might not be unworkable. I gently clean my OEM gasket once a week, so I don't believe I "taste" any off flavors, but I may take the plunge and order the 8mm gasket.

If that's true it's a change from the older models. The gasket that's in my Strega miks up as 8.3mm after 6 months of use.
