The Bacchi

Postby orphanespresso on Fri May 07, 2010 7:16 am

The early adopters of the Bacchi are getting happier all the time because it is getting to be travel season. Us too! For our soon planned trip we are going to drive across Montana, North Dakota, through Minnesota, down to Indiana and loop back through parts unknown and to have a Bacchi is a real deal maker for this trip. Roaring down I 90 with a Coleman propane stove firing up the Bacchi with some fresh beans...it just does not get any better!

When will this be available again? Says you're out of stock right now.

Thank you for asking,

You could use one of those nifty little crow espresso cups that you are offering with your Bacchi on the road trip. ? What's the story of the design, why the crow? I think I'll have to order one because like a crow, I like shiny trinkets.

LOL - We just like Crows, they're smart birds, and much interesting mythology surrounds them...

Bacchi just arrived at home. Bought from caffeemotive since I live in Sweden but don't worry, we won't be finished until we have one if your hand grinders @orphanespresso, have seen nothing like that beast and we have to have one. The perfect complement to the Bacchi.
Anyway, I just had to test it. Roasted up a small batch of Monsoon Malabar since it was what I had at home. Grind size: got in the ballpark for the third session. Me oh my, this machine is just like my Bezzie (sleeping in the basement right now, waiting for new gaskets and an overhaul), it wants a fine grind! I went with the recommended dose of 15g. Taste: wow. Still a liiiiittle bit cold, but... Wow! Definitely the best taste I have had from a Monsoon Malabar single in a long, long time. Actually, the best since Bezzie.

This will be the perfect machine @ work for me and my coffee loving colleague. 6-7 minutes of coffee preparation zen and a great coffee to top that off.

Oops, bad choice of thread to post in, sorry... didn't check to see the subforum first... too caffeinated. I do like the Bacchi, though. A great little machine.

Send to:

Peacecup's Bezzera repair and long-term storage facility, Karlstad. Will trade for Rancilio Z-11 two-group, semi-automatic, needs repair.

What a great idea! The kitchen is too crowded anyway, so a smaller machine would be great! Errrrm... wait a minute...

Have been away on vacation for some weeks, sorry about the late reply, but then, you knew it was hopeless anyway ;) Will tell you when the Bezzera is running again.
