Where to buy busted lever?

Postby Psyd on Sat Aug 06, 2011 10:28 pm

I kinda been keeping an eye out on Fleabay, and on CG, but so far, nothing.
What I want is a LP or Gaggia that the group is gone, toast, nada, kaput, but the boiler and element still stand a chance on working. Heck, I'd even look at one with the entire lever group gone!
This is for a weird experiment that a buddy of mine and I are thinking about, and so far, that's the (potentially) cheapest route we could come up with.
Anyone with a clue as to other avenues where one might go looking for junked or totaled levers?

I was on the horn with this concern weekly for about three months before I found one in Seattle. I was told that he had numerous Conti machines but I could never get any traction about how I could acquire one. You are closer so you might try.

Orphan Espresso's espresso machine junkyard? They've got lots of parts machines, including bits and pieces of a Conti Prestina.

If that's true, I be that Doug will chime in... I mean, he prolly shouldn't advertise outside of 'Marketplace', but I'm betting that if I ask for directions, he could give them without actually selling me something...
(Great idea, I'll give him a call)

OK. Someone's got to ask. What "weird experiment" do you have in mind?
