Of course he did. It's a lever :D

I think there are only two contrasts to a machine in red. Black or chrome/stainless.

I am about to paint a Sama club machine and was thinking of using hammertone steel grey for the base/chassis- and then possibly a pastel green or blue hammertone for the body shell. The blue or green would be old 50's style pastel colours...

I really love the hammertone paint and it applies easily as well.

Ive been looking at the Arrarax Caravel in its ivory/cream colour and I think that with a black base will be pretty epic.

If the powder coater doesnt have that colour I will get him to do it white and then spray it. I like the hardness of powdercoating

I'm a big fan of Italian cars, having owned several. I like the idea of using classic Italian car colors on classic Italian espresso machines. The Ferrari red that is best known is called "Roso Corsa". Ferrari's yellow is simply called "giallio". Lamborghini is known for their semi-metallic orange color that's been an option on their cars since the '6o's. Fiat is known for "Positano Giallio", which is the '70's dijon type of yellow that you either like, or hate. Give these colors a Google for reference.

I've noticed at least one of the Italian motor scooter companies using each of these classic car colors on their scooters.

Regardless of your choice, post pics when it's done! My Cimbali M-15 project is still in the works, but it's staying its solid brass...

Not sure rust is really an attractive colour for coffee machines

Craig gets the cigar re powder coating in my opinion. Super hard wearing and although colour choices are limited they are, rich and subtle in tones. Cream and black is good.

Craig,

Is the cream color you mention similar to a 2008 Volkswagen Beetle's "Harvest Moon Beige", seen here?

Got the frame powder coated white, the bottom pieces black and the sides creamy beige. I'm super exited.
