Weird microcimbali steam relief valve.... - Page 2

Postby drgary on Fri Sep 16, 2011 11:31 am

Hi Albert,

Here are thorough iPhone pictures, sorry for the blurring on some of these, but they'll give the info you need. The water valve appears identical to the steam one except for a different pipe at the end and a different label on the knob, "acqua" instead of "vapore." For reference I've thrown in some pictures of the pressure release valve, taking it apart through the series.

gary,
that is fantastic - thankyou so much....
it seems that the acqua (i missed the c - thanks for this!) is the same as the steam valve. that is good - it is a simple design.
it is interesting to see your steam relief - the ball seems smaller than i thought - i will have a play with a smaller and larger ball - i noticed after putting in a larger ball that the chimney does not fully seat down - i think i will go back to the smaller 1/4" ball....
when i have made up the steam valve i will post it here - many thanks to you!
may your cups of espresso be bold, ichorous and subtly flavoured with the sweetness of human kindness! much appreciated!
sean.

Sean,

Glad I could help. Sorry I confused your nom de plume with your first name.

Buon caffe!
