Yes there is going to be a 1 group version, it will have an internal tank, but can be mains plumbed. When run tanked it will either have a small vibration pump, a standard rotary pump, or if available one of the new miniature rotary pumps from FOT. It will use the same dual boiler system and thermal management as the 3 group, but may have additional software features e.g. preinfusion at different pressures, on off timers, eco modes..etc... Boilers will probably be AISI 316L steel, rather than copper.

I am waiting to get my hands on a 240V prototype to do initial testing....I am not expecting the prototype until the new year....probably end Jan early Feb 2016. Presumably a US variant will also be built, not just 240V/230V machines.

P.S. It's quite handy that it's after Christmas as I am in the middle of testing/redesigning a roaster for the UK market and expect the redesigned roaster to come from China early January. This gives me time to get that work done before testing the lever prototype.

Yeah, I believe they 'had' one. Not sure where that went or to which lucky guy/gurl. :P

Any idea on the pricing range on the one-group? Seems to me that what killed most levers' penetration into the consumer section is their price associated tag/bracket.

Not really because it has a lot more than ordinary levers with a couple of PID controlled cartridge heating elements in the group and PID controlled boilers, plus pumps etc....My advice was for them to keep it within the same price range as a standard Londinium....whether they can do this or not...I don't know.

arcus wrote:Yes, I believe the Ventus is styled after a catamaran although some feel it looks more like something out of Star Trek. It has a 5 litre boiler so it's bigger than I thought it was when I saw a picture. It's certainly an interesting looking machine.
I can't decide it they were inspired by Hobie Alter or Thor Heyerdahl. Does look like it would make good coffee.

Ha! Good point (s) That Clam Shell Lever machine of old was probably the inspiration but they missed the clam shell and found sail power. Maybe a dhow?

I love the features! I would think we're going to see more two boiler levers coming to market.

Machine looks incredible, but it's time to open a thread dedicated to his tamping technique. Anyone else willing to pull some shots using the triple tap and tamp w/punch?
Yes, i you per this on an iPhone

It was an interesting technique and I was really wondering how much tamping pressure he used with his pile driver finish. Lots of unnecessary theatrics as far as I'm concerned.

I believe adjusting the pre-infusion pressure using electronics is a first for a lever.

If they really do make a 110V, 1 group, tank-fed version, that would be a very attractive machine indeed, and I could imagine ponying up quite a bit of cash for one. It would be extra cool if you could turn off the steam boiler for everyday use, and then fire it up when you like (as I rarely make milk drinks for myself, but like to have the capability to do it for get-togethers).
