The mod has been in use for a couple of days now. No more annoyance! As Doug says, if the safety valve operates there are far greater problems with the machine than a few drips onto the switch. The Female/Female union is long enough so that the Safety valve would drip clear of the switch anyway. At some time in the future I may put a small plastic cover over the switch - there is a screw on the switch which will make this really easy. The Vac Breaker lets out about 1/2 teaspoon of water as it seals and this water evaporates within a minute or two. There is no way the case on the machine is air or watertight so with the amount of heat inside the case it ensures plenty of convection currents to clear the very small amount of steam. It is also clear of any electrical connections.

The other reason for them is that the safety/overpressure valve also lives under the dome. If that were to suddenly release the last thing you'd want is an eagle taking off in your kitchen
Well, Doug and Barb have listened to my prayers...and...I have ordered the mod with all the parts from one place with one stock number. Click Here Happy Holidaze! -Richard
