Hi I'm learning the ins and outs of my new La Pavoni Europiccola. My machine behaves a bit strange, with drops of coffee emerging down the portafilter only when the handle is about 50% down. the final outcome quantity is VERY scarce - even to a ristretto lover such as myself (I realize I should measure but believe me - it's not what it should be). I've tried different combinations of coffee grain quantity, grind and tamp. it seems to have no affect. I am also getting little/no crema at all. Coffee beans are freshly roasted, top quality. Any thoughts?

A few threads recently here on this. New La Pavoni Europiccola owner woes

Make sure the handle is on correctly, upside down makes for mini shots.

There are ways to get some of the spongy air out before the pull. I usually bounce the lever a bit at the top to get the air out. Slowly lifting the lever helps as well until it fills all the way versus lifting it all the way in one quick step.

Edit: here is the master guide on bleeding air

Bleeding Pressurestat lever machines. (Especially 2nd gen La Pavonis)

Also if you don't leave it up long enough not enough water will enter the group.
