I'm not even sure it's a lever machine; if it is, the linkage cowling is on backward, and the lever is missing.

This isn't the first time we've seen this. Not too much interest when it did come up.

Sorry for crashing the party ...

That is an Olympia with a hydraulic group... no spring, lots of problems in getting spare parts. There was a thread on kaffee-netz.de abut those hydraulic Olympias once...

8) and no - I hereby declare, that I am not one of the bidders at that auction!

But maybe the owner?
Kidding. I'd love to see the thread of which you speak.

Yes - if you follow that link that Tony added you can see that thread.

I don't read much about the workings of hydraulic groups on this forum. I can imagine how it might work, still would love to see a diagram and discussion. Not that I have an interest in buying one - just like to understand the workings of exotic old gadgets. The kaffe-netz thtread might explain a lot, but I have no German at all.

For those who don't read German but are interested, here's that kaffee-netz thread via Google translate.

He does get into the hydraulic mechanism in post #13. In that discussion he refers to picture 4, figure 6, etc. -- he is referring to the 9 photos in his original post.
