I hear a lot about adjusting the pressurestat to control temps. My millenium La Pavoni Pro tends to run a little high, say 1.2+ bar on the gauge. Rather than trying to unglue the pressurestat and possibly breaking it (besides the fact that I need a special torx driver to even get to it), I had another idea that I've never seen mentioned.
Why not just turn off the heater, vent the boiler with the steam wand down to ~1bar, and then pull the shot (after a flush to heat the grouphead of course). This is simple and avoids a lot of messing with the machine.
What's the downside of this?
