I agree. But the US did design a lot of wonderful juke boxes back then, and in a not dissimilar style.

For a modern system, the Faema Emblema is very striking in a '57 Chevy sort of way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oO7KR51HhaE

It produced the best caffe that I had in Rome.
