Recommended pros to recondition Olympia Cremina

Postby patriciag on Mon Jan 21, 2008 7:43 pm

Hello Coffee and Design Obsessives-
Can anybody tell me how to get an Olympia XPress Cremina reconditioned? My fabulous Italian Fiance will never be happy until his 1983 Cremina is made new. He claims it only needs a relay (and I say, probably a cleaning and a new gasket or Two). Please help, I want to surprise him, and I have no DIY in me, nor do I want amateurs working on it...
He will lose his mind with happiness to see it working! Thanks a million.

Hi Patricia,
Your fiance probably knows he's a lucky guy!

Try this outift for working on the Cremina: http://www.espressorepair.com/pages/852885/index.htm

I have never used a repair shop but have read several posts from people who swear by these guys.

Good luck!

Jamhat, you are a prince among men. I will call them tomorrow.
BTW, I am the lucky one. Thanks for the kind words.
Has anyone out there used these folks?

Wishing you all your gourmet dreams,

Patricia

Hi there,

Italian eh? - if that's real Italian as opposed to 2nd Generation or more, you might want to check out whether the machine is European (220-240 volt) or North American (110v?) voltage - might save you a lot of heartache and postage.

If it's Euro and you have problems pm me and I'll see what I can do to help.
congratulations btw.
sneaky.

Patriciag-

As your profile indicates you are in Los Angeles, why not give Pasquini a try? Pasquini Espresso Co - 213-739-0480, they are on Olympic Blvd or check out their website http://www.pasquini.com

Although I have never called them or used them for any repair services so I can't vouch for them, Pasquini at one time rebranded Olympia products (Pasquini Livietta = Olympia Coffex or Maximatic). I'm not sure if Pasquini ever rebranded the Cremina.

You might want to give them a call and see if they can either do the refurb for you or refer you to a local craftsman that can do it as at least they are in Los Angeles.

Others here may be able to tell us about Pasquini's services - maybe Marshall?
