Good grief man, those are amazing machines, and that grinder is a work of art. The counter underneath them is also beautiful. I guess I'll have to expand my lever search beyond Faema and Gaggia, neither of which I'm having any luck finding currently. Thanks again for the photos. Also love those coffee dispensers in the background.

Thanks for the updated info Gary. The '55-'56 is beautiful and that grinder is the nicest looking one I've ever seen.

And then today another nice surprise from Italy. My friend, Lucio Del Piccolo (aka LVX) just sent a link to a patent for Duchessa from 1959.

Unfortunately, to see more, I will need to travel to Rome. I could be convinced ... Or, he writes, I can pay 10 euro and they will send it to me, but there is no guarantee it is for the Lady Duchessa. Hmmm. I still like the idea of traveling to Rome!

Microcimbali Double Basket Fits

And now for an exciting announcement for the many Duchessa owners! The Microcimbali double basket fits nicely in the Duchessa portafilter, enabling richer shots. The effect is similar to what people have reported when putting the deeper Elektra double basket in a pre-Millennium Pavoni manual lever.

Hi all,
I'm one of the lucky who own this beauty:

I bought it in a flea market in 2003-04 (can't remember) and it was very scarce used (near a NOS).
Never serviced at all, it is full working and makes an excellent espresso!! 8)
I love it!!! :D

Very nice! They're rock solid, aren't they?

It looks like you have a very nice collection of other lever machines too.

Hi Gary,
Sure, they are very heavy and solid like and old steam locomotive!!!!! 8)
I'm in passion with coffee machines since a lot of years, and this is the result: no money but a lot of "little jewels"!!! ;)

Best,
Davide
