Sharp eye! Very similar - and so much for my speculation, as the tabs are used for mounting.samuellaw178 wrote:Not sure who else uses that dipper head but it is very similar to what was used in Brugnetti Aurora. Seems to be the same part welded to the boiler and drilled differently to accommodate different water input delivery. It has a hollow chamber inside it which can accommodate about 60-80ml water.
In any case, the '"mystery" of why Profitec used a copper boiler instead of their usual stainless steel may be solved. Joining that (relatively) huge brass item to a stainless steel boiler probably requires techniques not commonly practiced in an espresso machine factory.

Hey JohnB, would you please post a photo of the inside of your Bosco, showing that Group to boiler connections?

Unless there are changes done to the Bosco's manufacturing, this is how it looks like. Definitely different from the P800.
Why not a Quick Mill Achille ?

Actually, it's not that clear cut from just the picture. In fact, Brugnetti Aurora had a version that incorporates a true HX using that exact same 'chamber-reservoir' system. But in this case, Profitec did confirm it's a dipper system a while ago, so dipper it is.JohnB. wrote:Well it's pretty clear from the Instagram photo of the naked Pro 800s that it's a boiler fed hybrid dipper similar to the Bosco. No HX required.

Here's a photo taken of a Bosco 1 group boiler in a machine built earlier this month.FotonDrv wrote:Hey JohnB, would you please post a photo of the inside of your Bosco, showing that Group to boiler connections?
You can see the feed pipe coming off the boiler & feeding into the custom water reservoir which stores the water behind the group.

Thanks for the photos guys.
The tubing coming off that Bosco is pretty complex.
So, is the hot water for the shot taken from that reservoir and the boiler then re-charges the reservoir with hot water and waits for the next shot?

That's pretty much how it works. I also like that Bosco gives you a full size removable cover on the boiler.FotonDrv wrote:The tubing coming off that Bosco is pretty complex.

You mean that removable end cap to access the boiler for cleaning? It is a good idea.

Saw this video by Dan using the Pro 800 at a Cars N Coffee Event. Does that mean there will be a HB review, formal or informal?

Notice the flex of the Group mounting when the Lever is actuated/pulled?

Looks more like the entire machine tips forward slightly. Might just be the give in the rubber feet?
