Ponte Vecchio Export dripping group head - Page 2

Unless something got into the piston cylinder to tear it, I suspect it got dried out and stuck to the wall. Was the machine either, a) unused for a while, or b) the lever operated when cold? The main lubricant for the seals is water, and this only enters the group when the machine has come up to brew temperature. As noted, don't used the lever before the machine is warmed up.

For what it's worth, I've only changed (and lubed) seals once in over 5 years, and only that after dry storage.

Does anyone have a good source in North Amerca for new PV group seals? I am restoring a Sama Export with the 3 seal piston which i believe is the current type of piston used by Ponte Vechio. I've found everything else i need from OE but the group seals.

Has anyone tried the Zacconi / Riviera seals as a substitute in the 3 seal Export?

Im also looking for the black top cap that holds the cup tray if anyone happens to have one laying around.

It looks like 1st-line might have them:

I thought OE had the seals also.

I just changed the bottom seal on my Sama - getting the piston back in requires a proper clamp or jig. It's a bit of a pain really, but manageable.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I emailed 1st line and Jim pointed me to this item and told me to order 3 of them;

Problem is 1st line won't ship to Canada, and PV refers me to 1st Line. Hence my question about Zacconi seals which should be more easily obtained.

Won't Orphan ship to Canada? Heck, they're in Idaho, they could probably just chuck your order over the border.
