Piston polish in La Pavoni Pro

Postby mitmind on Wed Aug 17, 2011 4:35 am

Hi
After I fixed the heating element, I was waiting for the new brass piston and the gaskets, thanks to Peter the waiting wasn't too long ;-)
As you can see the old plastic piston after 10 years of heating's status

So the first some good polish

I hope you clean everything up obsessively since Autsol is not food safe: http://www.deep-reflection.com/sites/de...l-msds.pdf

Ohh yes tekomino

Of course I did, I cleaned pretty hard with a powerful soap and then y preheat water and citric acid and let it do for some like 2 hours.

After I rebuild all I run 2 complete boilers with nothing else than water

And thanks for the advise

J.

we have this stuff in the bike shop called 'chromax'
it's labelled as a biodegradable and non-toxic metal polish
and although not listed as food safe,
it smells just like that stuff the dentist uses to polish your teeth after a cleaning..

it doesn't work very well
