Piston Lubrication

Postby Adrock on Sun May 17, 2009 4:09 pm

I have a Fe-Ar La Peppina, and am not sure how to lubricate it. It's been sqeaking recently. I have the Dow-111 or whatever, but don't want to do something wrong. Can anyone help?

A thin layer on every seal and joint you can find, except the PF gasket. That's what i did. And so far it's working fine. For the whole machine you won't need more than a peanut of grease.

This is not very coffee-geeky of me, but I'm a little nervous about taking the machine apart. I know that it should be simple, but I'm worried about messing something up. I'm just not that mechanically inclined.

You can find detailed assembly/disassembly instructions and photos on Orphanespresso.com. This is a simple machine with few moving parts. You will need a big clamp of some kind to take the whole thing apart though.
