Photos of Ponte Vecchio Lusso in different colors?

Postby Ignatius Riley on Fri Jul 25, 2008 7:53 pm

Hi, nice forum you have here!

I'm a newly registered member even though I've been lurking here for quite some time.

I'm about to order a Ponte Vecchio Lusso 1, but have not yet decided what color to pick.
Extensive searches in the web has only resulted in a couple of photos of the Chrome and Black models.
To help me in my decision making, it would be very helpful if you could post or point me to photos of the White, Red & Tobacco models, preferably in different angles. If you have seen the various models in real life, please post comments on their looks (as there are no show rooms here that carry PVs).

And another question: in most photos, the bezel of the pressure gauge is black but a few has a different gauge with a chrome bezel. When I order a Lusso today, what kind of gauge will it most likely have? Is it possible to swap gauges?

Thank you for listening!

Black painted and steel are the only two choices that seen to be available here in the USA. Maybe more options for colors in Europe. The casing is relatively easy to remove allowing a custom paint job. .

Welcome Mats.
I got a red one from the Good Coffee Company in Seattle, Washington.
See my November 20th picture in this thread.

It is easy to swap gauges, the Good Coffee Company carries spares.

Thank you, Fullsack!

It looks really nice.
Are you happy with your Lusso, any reservations regarding it's finish, build, performance etc?

Do you perhaps have any more photos where the side and/or back is visible?

Again, thank you.

Well Mats, I've seen some posts on RiktigtKaffe, but have not been able to figure out how to register there yet.

I have a white Export, seen in my avatar. I could probably dig up a larger photo. We'll be the only two PV owners in Sverige I suppose.

The Export is the cheaper model, but I've been happy with the build quality, and the espresso is very good and fun to make. I don't think the machine tolerances are up to those of the Cremina, but the price is better! In my opinion the quality is at least as good as a Pavoni, if not better. All lever machines are pretty simple, easy to maintain, and generally long-lasting.

Thank you!

Would you also prefer Red over Stainless?

I prefer a painted version in any available color over stainless—to me, the painted surfaces are easier on the eyes.

You're welcome.
This is one of the many excellent H-B threads about the Lusso. My November 8, 2007 post on that thread answers your Lusso performance question.

The red Lusso is at our company condo, not my house, so it may be a while before I get more pictures.
