Pavoni pressurestat swap?

Postby larrbo on Wed Aug 10, 2011 11:49 am

Can an older Pavoni be upgraded to run a pressurestat? What parts would I need to change (parts, boiler, etc)

And by the same token, can a newer Pavoni be retrofitted with an old-school two switch element? I want to swap an older two-switch heating element into a newer Pavoni with a 220v element/pressurestat.

I'm no expert on the newer machines, but don't the models with the pressure-stat have only one heating element in them? If that's the case, then you are probably going to have a difficult time configuring the machine to have a high/low switch (unless you also install a heating element / boiler bottom plate from an older machine also).

As far as upgrading an older machine to use a pressure stat, I don't see why not. However, it would most likely involve drilling a hole into the base of the boiler plate (I'm assuming the pressure stat is some sort of pressure on/off switch).

Anything can be done if you have enough free time on your hands :)
