Richard -
I believe that Dan Kehn has a Olymia 2002 sitting on top of his MEtro shelving unit in his office area if memory serves me right.......Maybe the landlord here would do us the honor.... or if he is unsure on the shot pull Steve Robinson could jump back in here- We haven't heard from or lead Barista in a while...

Oh fearless leader!......

Hi folks - 2 quick questions:

1 - is this beauty going to be plated / lacquered? If so I take it that the microns involved won't skew the fit.

2 - has anyone tried it in a pre-millenium Pavoni? I ask as, if it fits, you may find that the order numbers will take a jump into a cheaper production bracket!

Best of luck,
sneaky

Hi Sneaky, Glad to hear from you!

As far as I know it is to be polished Aluminum Bronze or equivalent no / low lead. Since no part meets the water and the bronze/brass is in all our houses as a standard plumbing component, I do not worry. One or two respondents wanted to have a plate put on. That may be about $10+ extra for every buyer in addition to an already significant price.

The only problems for a LaPav., that I found, is that the ramp on the lugs is going the wrong direction. But, since you ask, I believe the existing "Newd"ramp is only to the center of the lug ( perhaps for alignment balance against the basket?) And, it could be extended the other way from there. It does swing as far to the left as the stock PF. I shall check when I get it if no-one beats me to it ( my Euro is awaiting rebuild at the moment .)

Next tester in line, is there a Europiccola fan in your neighborhood?
Thanks
Richard

Hope it works as this could be the tipper for profitability!

To be honest the only things preventing me from joining in the fun are the additional likely cost of shipping and the cracked pf that I have that I can convert. I really do like the project and the way you are all pulling together.

Best of luck,
sneaky

It works! There is some play, even with the basket in it, but it is workable. The La Pavoni baskets fit in Richard's pf and the Cremina baskets fit in the La Pavoni pf. The only combination that doesn't work is the La Pavoni pf into the Cremina group. The Cremina group is too small for the La Pavoni pf.

BTW: A couple of my "Cremina baskets" are actually Elektra a leva baskets, so a leva baskets are interchangable with L.P. pre-millenium baskets and can be subsituted for pre-millenium baskets as well as Cremina baskets.

And what doesn't work is good news ... according to the guys over in competitive intelligence.
