www.ptscoffee.com: without the love, it's just coffee

No, I'll never understand them; Olympia Express has processed my order!

Postby mturkel99 on Sun Jan 27, 2008 3:23 am

Olympia Express has sent me the e-mail asking for my credit card number.
"We will ship your order as soon as you send us via Fax or Web your credit card number together with the expiry date and the security code. We accept only Mastercard, Eurocard and Visa." I assumed web meant e-mail and e-mailed them the information accordingly. I couldn't help laughing at the last line of their e-mail:
"Do not hesitate to contact us if you require any additional information."

Hmm... In February of last year I sent in my credit card info and after I did so I read on the Olympia website that such information should be called in (perhaps faxed would be best) and not emailed. How long ago did you place the order and on what day did you receive this email?

However I did email the information and received a confirmation. By July with no replies to my emails about the order and no (absolutely no) response to a high priority request questioning whether I did the transaction right, I emailed them one last time and cancelled the order altogether (over $400.00+ they will never see).

I called the number given in my e-mail. Someone answered :o and asked me where I am calling from. I replied New York, and he replied "What day is it in New York." I realized his implication, namely it's Sunday and he is not working. He told me he doesn't handle the orders but that it should be fine.

I did a small order with Olympia Express on 1/9. I called in my credit card info 1/9 and just received an order confirmation and that the items will ship. Maybe there is hope.

Unless mistaken, Olympia Express is neither a supporter or advertiser on Home-Barista.com. For me that is a yellow warning flag. I consistenly find the product, advice, price and followup I need by hitting these Forums and firms on HB. HBers seem to quickly weed out the weak performers. :D

Bob Olympia Express is the manufacturer in Switzerland of Olympia espresso machines. US suppliers are sold out of parts and have been back-ordered for many moons. The manufac. offers parts to consumers but orders seem to rarely be completed. But many of us like/love our Olys and any parts movement/news from the company is of great interest to many of us.
