by Fullsack on Tue Jul 24, 2007 3:10 pm Yes, not inside the piston, but in the back underside of the lug groove of the group. That is where I saw the chrome chips. It seems to be the only place. I don't know much about the chroming process, but it looks like a layer of chrome bubbled and the pf lugs crushed the bubbles. There is no brass showing on either the pf lugs or the group lug groove.
On my other machines, there is a thinner, duller coat of chrome in the pf group lug groove.
