Need Gaggia Factory Parts

Postby ladalet on Sun Jun 25, 2006 7:48 pm

I just picked up a 2000 8 cup Gaggia Factory at a garage sale for $20. It looks like it may have been a display model that has never been used. It is in new condition. It is missing the portafilter basket, cone top cover, drip tray and screen. It heats up fine and does not leak. Does anyone know who might carry these parts. The typical online sites do not list them. I believe that the parts are interchangeable with the La Pavoni levers. Thanks in advance.

Best wishes,
Lance

Just thought I would let anybody interested know that parts for the La Pavoni lever machines (Gaggia Factory) can be found at http://www.partsguru.com/EspressoDepartment.html. They have a very nice selection of parts for espresso machines. Edward was very helpful in making sure I ordered the correct parts for my machine. He is very knowledgeable about espresso machine repair and willing to share this knowledge to help you repair your machine yourself. His email responses are very fast--next day, same day, or in one case less than 2 minutes. I ordered my drip tray and chrome grid for $25, and a 2 cup filter basket for $12.

Best wishes,

For anyone interested. My parts arrived. The LaPavoni Europiccola parts fit my Gaggia Factory just fine. It turns out that the information out there about LaPavoni building the Factory appears to be true. I got tired of trying to find Gaggia Factory parts and started looking for LaPavoni parts. It seems to have worked out well.

The lower drip tray comes in black plastic and the upper drip tray (grid) icomes in plastic (black), chrome, and brass. I ordered my upper drip tray (grid) also is chrome.

Also, the Portafilter basket for the LaPavonis and Gaggia Factorys prior to 2000 (1999 and earlier) are 49mm (49.5mm ID X 51mm OD) and the LaPavonis and Gaggia Factorys 2000 and later use a 51mm (51.5mm ID X 52.7mm OD).

They have the filter baskets in both sizes. Make sure you verify the correct size.

http://www.PartsGuru.com got my parts out in a timely manner and sent me exactly what I ordered. Edward was very helpful. He is a real coffee enthusiast. We had a real enjoyable conversation. His websight has alot of useful information and some difficult to find parts--particularly for leverheads that own LaPavoni Levers or Gaggia Factory Levers.
