The mystery button on an Olympia Cremina

Someone from Italy posted on CG that his father acquired this cremina. Notice the button above the switch. I mentioned never seeing a button like that and his father mentioned it having to do with steaming. Could it be that when pushed it bypasses the pressurestat and allows extra heating before steaming? Interesting concept :idea:

Ed,

That would be my assumption as well. That would allow you to run the boiler at a lower setting than normal to prevent the group from overheating yet would within a few seconds boost the steaming power. You'd need to bleed off extra pressure after steaming in order to return to the lower boiler pressure, but that's easily done by opening the steam wand for a while.

I wonder how long before others tweak their Cremina with this mod?
