What do you guys think of that lever anyway?
I don't mean to offend anyone, but....when I saw the unit in person, the handle looked cheap to me. I prefer the old school approach, bakelite

Originally the machine did ship with a classic bakelite handle - that's what mine has. Some people have changed out the handle for their preferred grip.

The Bezzera handles are ergonomic. It took some getting used to, but I prefer the shape now. Very comfortable to use, regardless of their looks.

I also like the ergonomics of the Strega grips....the festive end-cap is an issue--it feel a little wobbly when I insert the PF. Wondering if I could open up the cap--see a screw there--and pack in some high temp epoxy putty to stiffen it up a bit? Has anyone done this?
I've ordered a Cafelat PF for the Strega and will see how it compares to the stock parts.

"Festive" - I like that!
I tried some tape on the round part inside the cap as it has ridges that mate up with ridges on the black handle for a friction fit. However, it turned out that tightening the screw (small Phillips) that holds the cap in place was all that I needed to do.
That Cafelat PF looks really good, especially because it is stainless steel. Did you get the rubber or the bakelite handle?

Yeah, the handle caps are very festive-- they make me feel like I'm driving an Alfa-Romero espresso maker! Neat!
Just tightening the screw? Cool! I'll do that before going the epoxy route--thanks....simple works best.....
I was deciding between the rubber and bakelite handles--decided to go old school with bakelite. I should have the new PF perhaps tomorrow, or Saturday. I'll report back about how this PF fits and works--aside from having a cut-off PF to check my extractions, the stainless steel build was also appealing.....agreed....
