My roaster (Medellin Secret - for me at a leisurly pace a 5 minutes walk away) installed a new espresso machine this week.

And pulled shots for a fair (€1,- each)

Since he was using the beans I usually buy (Santa Elena, a SO from Costa Rica), I bought some shots :D

Now I know what "Incredible clarity" means.
(I got his permission to post this with pictures and all.)

And yet my eyes are drawn to the Art Deco version of the Elektra Micro Casa Semi-automatica sitting in the corner ... :D

Agreed - also a very nice machine! (And he also has a Vibiemme Domobar Super collecting dust now - but I'm still happy with what I got  or so I keep telling myself )

If you want one, get it now, they are going out of Production next month.

I'd probably give my right arm for one of those beauties.

True?
Why? Low sales?

They say that the sales on the mirage lever aren't good enough to justify the increase in lead time for all of their other machines caused by needing to support mirage lever construction. They must have highly coupled assembly processes.

Working the lever with only your left arm would be a bit of a challenge. But I'm sure you'll get used to it!

I'm sad to see the Mirage fade into the sunset, but I can certainly understand why.

If you still had a chance...

Idro with the lever group ? Triplette? Duette? Speedster?

Would you choose a Mirage Idro or a Duette or even the Little Speedo
It could be as complex or as simple as you want. It's the choice of the barista.
