A Mint Mini Gaggia ...that wants to show how she is made - Page 5

Yes, I thought about buying spares too. Espresso Parts has two Gaggia shower screen models, probably from comercial levers. I'll measure the Mini Gaggia's screen to see if it could fit.

Thanks,

I've bought pistons seals and group gaskets, as well as shower screen from a Spanish distributor that Demoka indicated. The prices were good, but the shipping was expensive. A good friend from Europe helped me with the bank transfer, as they don't accept Paypal and a transfer from here would double the cost of the order...

The piston seal is like Greg showed here, toroidal externaly. It seems to work fine. I don't know if the V seal would do better on the piston rising, maybe it could help not to bring some coffee to the boiler? I doubt it.

Nice machine, I've done some testing without sealing the boiler. I was thinking about making a 1mm EPDM seal instead using silicon. The nickel plate of my boiler is not so good, and it's hard to clean it, I wonder what should I do about it.

With some help on the lever I could pull (and push  ) nicer shots. Maybe a washer to compress the spring (don't know how much) or a stronger (bigger) spring could make the machine shine.
