HI Brooklynshot.. I am a pavoni and HB newbie and would love to get my hands one of one your tips. I was all set to go and make one, but realise I won't be able to with my tools. (Presume a 2mm drill bit is not going to be small enough?)

If you have any available I would love to buy one. I live in London, England - please let me know if it might be possible. (snex@hotmail.com)

Hi everyone,

I was running into the same problems with the 3-hole steaming tip. Fortunately, I still had my Saeco Vienna Superautomatica around which uses a black plastic jacket with a single hole tip that you plug onto the steam wand. Incidentally the steam wand is of the exact same diameter as the one on the La Pavoni, so it fits perfectly!

After wasting about a litre of milk using the stock steaming tip, I unscrewed it, dumped it, and use the Seaco one now. I was able to create nice micro foam on the first try.

Just wanted to share this in case anyone happens to have a Saeco or similar machine collecting dust somewhere. If it helps I can take a picture, too.

After using the considerable steaming power of a commercial lever, I have found that microfoam is quite easy to produce using the stock tip. Lately I have been frothing milk for 5-6 ounce cappuccinos in a cezve with the stock tip. If you have an opportunity to practice with a 16 cup Pavoni or a machine with lots of steam, the practice may pay off.

Just a question from me to anyone who has used both LaPa Europiccola and Professional: Does the steaming performance between this two machine differ very much?I am trying to decide whether to buy the cheaper Euro or the more expensive Professional. I understand that the Professional has a pressure gauge but it seems that a pressure gauge could be added later on for under $50. So the deciding factor is now the steaming performance. For my usage, I would usually steam about 7 oz of milk at a time. How long will this amount take in each of the Euro and Pro to steam up to temperature? *It doesn't have to be exactly 7oz, any amount for comparison between Euro and Pro would be sufficient*

I hope it's ok to ask here as I don't think it's a good idea to create a new thread for such a short question. And most of you here do actually make latte/cappas. :mrgreen:

I used a Professional for a week this spring and found the larger boiler made a difference in the ease of frothing milk. I believe I have encountered that opinion elsewhere as well.
