The Lusso Testarossa: Better Than New!

Postby roastaroma on Fri Jan 22, 2010 3:40 am

Thanks to Barb & Doug at Orphan Espresso, I have this dazzler in my kitchen!

Image

The original color was black, and I went for the powder coating in "Italian Red". HOO-YEAH! 8)

More Orphan Espresso goodness under the hood: at top left, the relocated p-stat! That's their silicone insulation around the boiler, too.

The rebuild included silicone seals for the steam and water wands -- the difference in the valve action is like night and day! SWEET!

Barb & Doug, you are the Lever Gods! :D

Gorgeous. I always like to see a bit of machine bling.

I reckon you should get matching portafilter and lever handles as well. That will make your coffee go even faster!

They are wonderful machines once all the little kinks are ironed out/ignored. Enjoy

Beautiful job.

And a good idea there on the matching handles, Gino!

Talk about attention to detail: I was gobsmacked to find they even buffed my drip tray & cup tray to a mirror finish! Lucky we are to have such fanatics in the espresso business!

BTW, the portafilters are bottomless, expertly cut by Verna Design for better flow. This reminds me of my motorcycling days -- I used to mod my bikes, too. VROOM! VROOM!

Ciao,
Wayne

Attention to detail all right. They even matched the boiler insulation!
