My motto is still a drop of olive oil on the piston rod (and cotter pins) once in a while, and never work the lever when dry.

The last time I "went inside" the group was two years ago, and it seems to be working fine.

I recently paired the PV with some Caffe Agust - a match made in heaven.

I tried the piston rod trick but I couldn't get it to ride smoothly up and down that cylinder.Works fine now.

That's the way the clamp is.The forked part goes on top of the valve spring.
