Looking for Urania parts

Postby borat on Wed Sep 14, 2011 8:11 pm

Hi all,

I'm doing a restoration on a '67 single group Urania and looking for a few parts.

1. Looking for one or more of the little round headed nut & bolt pairs that hold the gold trim onto the cover & one foot:

and

2. The outlet drain box that sits under the drip tray:

Thanks for your help.

cheers, Stuart.

Hi Stuart

Mike from NZ here;

Nut- is it a standard thread dome or acorn nut, usually available from local fastener outlet (blacks fasteners etc)

Leg, i'd guess you'd have to get one machined up

Drain cup - is it the standard E61 drain box? it's still available, usually listed on same page as water inlet parts

Hi Mike,

Ah, Acorn nut eh - I was wondering what they were called. The only problem is the matching bolt has exactly the same head..... And the body section of the bolt is only a fraction of the normal thickness of what you would expect for that sized head. To me, it's a very unusual nut & bolt combination.

Maybe a solution for the bolt would be to put one on the lathe, turn the body down, then rethread it. The hole in the nut then would have to be filled, re-drilled and rethreaded..... Or just get someone to turn up a few from scratch.

I've left the ones I have at the plating shop. I might get one back and take a close-up pic to show how they look.

Re the drain cup. From what I can see in the pic, it looks different to the black plastic E61 item. I don't have one, so not sure if the original is metal or plastic - I'm guessing metal by the colour and age of the machine - but who knows..

cheers, Stuart.

Thanks Mike,

yes it looks almost exactly the same! (I wonder if they are the same part...)

I've ordered the E61 plastic one as a fallback while I search for a proper one.

Sounds like I should be searching Lambro parts too...

Anyone need a Faema pressure stat?

I have the original mercury pstat with bracket and insulators, but minus the bulbs.

Happy to swap for these parts I'm looking for

cheers.
