rotchitos wrote:"the spoiler" ? is it really necessary that all this is so serious? , and the pictures there are before DIY (not completed).

I enjoyed the joke a lot, but have just prepped a Microcimbali for sale. "Oh, s**t, have I missed a way this thing can foam over"???

I still reserve judgement on the Strega. To be honest I still do not get the lever machine with a pump? Someday I will get a chance to try it...
But for the look of it the Strega is very nice looking!
Very nice setup indeed.

A hybrid lever, a manual "screw-down" machine - the Portaspresso Rossa, Rosco hand grinder, Quest M3. Grinder is the Portaspresso Rosco hand grinder for now, my Pharos is on the way. (Breville Smart Grinder intentionally left out of picture after finding it cannot grind a decent espresso grind for the Strega, the Rosco grinds 10 times better!)

There's good coffee in that house! And with the Pharos? It's worth the wait. I'll have to look up that Portespresso Rosso. Hadn't heard of that one. :D

The Portaspresso is a portable hand powered espresso maker and coffee grinder set from Australia. The espresso maker is the Rossa, the grinder is the Rosco. They are incredible works of design and precision manufacturing. I just got it a week or so ago and I am still learning how to get the most from both tools. I use the Rosco grinder to grind all my coffee for my Strega and for the Rossa.

Once I have more time on them both, I will write up a review here.

Here is the website where the designer and manufacturer sells them, http://www.portaspresso.com they are only available from this website as far as I know, I ordered them and had them shipped to me in Macau.

I am most interested to compare the Rosco to the Pharos and Lido grinders from OE. My Pharos and Lido should be here this week, then I can do a comparison review of all three hand grinders.

You can look up the reviews on coffeesnobs.com, from the Australian owners.

The big catch? They are not cheap! But, I am really enjoying them, I just made a shot in the Rossa, and it was great.
