I might have to settle for something like this. I won't do any damage (permanent/irreversible) to the Gaggia, but I'd like it if there was a way to have it look a bit more self contained. Your method works perfectly no doubt, and the Caraval looks stock, I'd like to see if there's a way to tuck wires and move bit here and there, and maybe just end up with the PID box sitting gently on the top of the case or something.

Mini Gaggia's aren't the rarest, most highly sought after machine, so it might not break my heart too much (or it's value) if I have to carefully thread in one tapped spot to mount something discretely.

I'll be reading RayJohn's incredible PID thread for the 5th or 6th time to glean as much "how-to" as possible.

Wow... book and everything. Sweet!

Hi all !

A quite rare machine, the first brand name of Elektra, from 1947 to 1965 La Tarvisium

I'm in touch with Elektra to know a little more about it, won't forget to give informations if I can have a few ;)

Beautiful piece!
Impressive mechanics - love those huge bearings :-)
Did you find it in this pristine condition? Or have you added some shoeshine? ;-)

Thanks for sharing!

Ditto on those bearings! That's quite an impressive grouphead.

It's funny to see reactions about these two bearings, one could think the group head is quite big but no, here is a picture with a group "helmet" of a Faema Marte/Mercurio. The machine and its group are quite small, the piston is around 3-4cm diameter (1-1,5") ;)

Hard to post after that amazing Elektra, but I'm pleased to share my new Faemina Baby! I still need to clean it up, though.

As is, it makes a MEAN shot.
